Living on Mission and Starting Fresh: Two Messages to Launch the New Year

As we step into this new year, we’ve been encouraged by two powerful sermons that call us to action and renewal. Pastor Jad Levi’s January 5th testimony challenged us to live boldly on mission, while Pastor Ryan’s January 12th message reminded us of God’s grace and the opportunity for a fresh start in our faith.

If you missed either of these impactful messages—or if you’d like to revisit their wisdom—we encourage you to watch the embedded sermons below.

Living Boldly on Mission

Testimony by Pastor Jad Levi on January 5, 2025

On January 5, we were honored to welcome Pastor Jad Levi from Trinitas Phoenix. Together with his wife, Jaimie, Pastor Jad has been leading a movement in Phoenix, planting communities on mission—smaller, like-minded groups united in their love for Jesus and their passion to share the gospel.

Through their ministry, over 150 people have accepted Jesus in the past year. Pastor Jad shared inspiring stories of how God is transforming lives:

  • Prison ministry, where they’ve cast out demons and baptized inmates.

  • Hospitality outreach, such as serving pancakes at the YMCA in downtown Phoenix to build relationships and share the love of Jesus.

  • Meeting people where they are, providing practical support as a gateway to sharing the gospel.

Pastor Jad reminded us that the mission of the church extends beyond the walls of a building. It’s about boldly stepping into the world, demonstrating Christ’s love through action, and sharing the hope of the gospel.

A Fresh Start with Jesus

Preached by Pastor Ryan on January 12, 2025

A week later, Pastor Ryan shared a message of hope and renewal, speaking to the fresh start many of us seek at the beginning of a new year. Drawing from Peter’s story in John 21, Pastor Ryan reminded us that Jesus doesn’t define us by our failures. Instead, He meets us where we are, offering grace and inviting us to begin again.

Peter’s restoration story shows us a God who transforms failure into purpose. After Peter’s denial of Jesus, he likely felt unworthy and defeated. But Jesus met him on the shore, performed a familiar miracle, and restored him with love and grace. Jesus’ invitation to Peter—“Feed my sheep”—was a reminder that His call is grounded in love, not perfection.

“Setbacks don’t define your story—God’s grace does. Jesus meets you in your brokenness and invites you to start anew.”

Pastor Ryan challenged us to reflect on the areas of our lives where we need a fresh start. Whether it’s in our faith, relationships, or personal goals, Jesus offers the grace and strength to begin again.

Two Messages, One Truth

These two sermons, though different in focus, share a common message: God’s grace is the foundation for both personal renewal and bold mission.

  • Pastor Jad’s testimony inspires us to step out in faith, trusting God to work through us as we share His love with the world.

  • Pastor Ryan’s message reminds us that no failure is too great for God’s redeeming love and that every day is an opportunity to begin again.
